From Drawing to Product

The craftykittenlove cat is a combination of Mittens, TLC, Oscar, and Minka. They are the ones I have the best memories of. While Mittens and Minka are no longer here, TLC and Oscar continue to bring about amusing mishaps and as you can see below, each cat (except for TLC) has gotten its own fabric design and a finished product. 

Each fabric design starts with a sketch. From there the sketch becomes a drawing, a scene, a color, and a product that will come from that sketch. 

It is a big deal to do this. Custom fabric is expensive. There is no such thing as red dot clearance in the custom fabric world. But, I feel like this step encompasses who I am as both an artist and crafter. 

Here is a sneak peak into what I will be making this spring. TLC's fabric is sitting on my counter, waiting to be washed, ironed, and then cut to size. 

During a time that feels so dark, we all need some TLC in our lives.
