The Inspiration

The cats that have inspired craftykittenlove.

Have you ever wondered why I named my business craftykittenlove? Obviously, I love cats. But there is a story behind it. 

When my sister and I were in high school, we had this thing about pretending to be a cat when we greeted one another. An encounter usually went something like this: One of us would be minding our own business, relaxing on the couch reading a book. When suddenly, we would hear, "puuur-meow!" and the pounding of feet as the other launched themselves into the air and pounced. The person relaxing on the couch would shriek and laugher would follow. 

From there, kitten changed as we did. By the time we were finished with college and settling down. The idea behind "kitten" had turned into a description of sorts: "hungry kitten", "tired kitten", "sandy kitten", "sunburned kitten", "homesick kitten",—I think you get the idea. It is apart of us now. We use "kitten" about as much as we use "sissy" when answering the phone or texting each other.

And now, the memories surrounding "kitten" are being turned into something more. Stay tuned!
